Globalization
In yesterday’s in Mr. Schick’s Human Geography class, we talked about many different things. I walked in the room smelling the very good smelling air freshener. I then sat down. We were then talking about Globalization and americanization. We looked at a picture of a KFC/McDonalds restaurant in China. It had Chinese writing on some parts of, and two Chinese kids name Alex and Ryan translated it for us. They said it translated into “beef and noodles”. After that we went onto another slide about the silk road. Mr. Schick says it’s amazing how it took about about a year or a little less to get something transported, and now it can take over night. Also, it was amazing how the fast food chains spread throughout the world, and other countries eat it. We then talked about talking on cell phones and how easy it is to do now a days. I mentioned a great thing about cell phone. I said, “Do you think in the future we will be able to talk to someone in a foreign country, and if they don’t know the language it translates back into it, and vis versa?” We then just talked about other slides and transportation. Everyone was shocked of my great thought. As class was about to end, we gathered our books and waited for the bell to ring.
